Using a Jutsu

To use a Jutsu, hold R and press Square, Triangle, X, or Circle. To perform a Quick Release Jutsu, tap R. You will execute the Jutsu that was last used without having to hold R.

Changing items

To change items during a mission or the game, hold Triangle to open the list of items you are equipped with. Use the D-pad to select the desired item you want to use for the shortcut. The red side is for weapons and the green side is for usable items such as potions, antidote, etc.

Change item potential

Combine scrolls at the Shop menu to increase or decrease the potential of an item. You will then be able to equip the item.

Better upgrades

To get better upgrades (Galaga Arrangement) let your ship get stolen, then let another steal your ship. Kill one, get the power-up, then kill the other bug. You will then get an ultra upgrade. Try using different bugs.

Galaga: Double Ships

Wait until one of the top ships(the green ones that take two shots to kill) comes down and fires off a tractor beam(the beam that can capture your ship). Let it capture your ship. Now, wait until it swoops down again with your ship behind it. Simply kill the head ship(the green one), and it will lose your ship. Your ship will then lock on to the side of your current ship, giving you two ships to play with at the same time! Now, be careful. Not only will both ships be firing at you after your ship gets captured, but if you accidently shoot your captured ship, you'll destroy it. Also note, this will cost you one life, but will definately make the Challenging Stages, and perhaps the game itself, a little easier to play.

Note: This works in all non-bootleg/hack versions of Galaga, as well as most of the sequels and Arranged Mode in Namco Classic Collection Vol. 1.

Galaga: Stop Enemies from Firing

On most revisions of Galaga, there's a trick that stops enemies from firing at your ship. In Stage 1, kill all aliens except the two bees in the bottom-left corner. Allow the bees to dive down and shoot at you, while dodging their shots. After around 15 minutes or so, the bees will continue to drop down, but they won't fire. Let them drop down another 5 or 6 times, then kill them. After all this, enemies will not shoot at you for the rest of the game.

Vehicle locations

How to get the Snowmobile, Buggy, Golf Cart, and Trophy truck, and 450 Dirtbike, by finding the keys in these locations.

450 Dirtbike: The key is located in American Gothic, You just have to go by the railroad tracks and it is on the roof of the building connected to the railroadl.

Buggy: The key is located in Yucatan Ruins, You have to go to where the flag challenge brought you, and the key is located on top of the fountain in there.

Golf Cart: The key is located in Seaside Links, You have to go straight from where you are, go on the opposite side of the building, and is on the left balcony

Snowmobile: The key is located in Alaskan Tundra, on top of the tower by the airplane hanger, you have to jump over the tower, and you will pick up the key.

Trophy Truck: The key is located in Bayou Delta, where the time trial finished, its in the middle of the water, go over the land bridge and follow the thin trail.

All you have to do is find a big hill back up get up to top speed before you get to the hill and this should break the hang time record and unlock your new quad if not try again until you break the hang time record.
