Secret characters
There are five secret characters that can be attained in the game, six if you count the two forms of Reis. The following list shows how to get them all. NOTE: You must have Mustadio in your party to get all of the secret characters, and all of these characters are aquired in Chapter 4.
Beowulf: Read the rumors at Goland, go to Lesalia, then agree to accompany Beowulf to Goland. After a series of plot battles, he joins the party.
Biblos: Aquired after clearing all ten levels of the Deep Dungeon.
Cloud: After returning Reis to human form, go to Goug. Cloud will run off to Zarghidas after a scene. After clearing Igros, go to Zargidas and win the fight.
Dragon Reis: Accompany Beowulf through Goland Coal City; Reis is rescued during the final battle in the series.
Human Reis: Read the rumors at Zeltennia, buy a flower in Zarghidas, then return to Goug. This unlocks a battle in Zeltennia, and Reis takes human form afterward.
Worker 8: After rescuing Reis from Goland, return to Goug Machine City. Worker 8 joins the party after a small scene.

Second Battle at Lionel Castle
You must have Beowulf and Human Reis in your active party. When you return to Lionel Castle, a cutscene will play. Aliste Rosenheim will appear and kidnap Reis. Win the battle that'll follow, fight Celebrent Bredmondt, and you will get Reis back after you're victorious.

Balthier
During Chapter 4, go to The Mining Town of Gollund. At the tavern, read the "Rash of Thefts" rumor. Go to the Merchant City of Dorter. At the tavern, read the "A Call for Guards" rumor. When you leave the city a battle will start. Win the battle with Balthier's help and he will join you.

Easy way to level & master jobs
Well, I started this trick after all the guest leaves your party.(Delita, Argath, Gaffgarion, Argias etc).

To do this trick all you need is 2 Knights with Rend Power, Magick, and Speed. And as for the other members ( Ramza and 2 others ) can be whatever class they want to be But i'll recommend using Ramza ( your leader ) to master Monk and then learning some Thief skills.

Alright now on with the trick, but with some rules.

1: I recommend Having 99 Potions,Hi Potions,JP Boost and some status healing items also.
2: Never have a guest with you when You do this cause they will just kill the poor little monster.
3: Don't use Block Skills such as parry, Counter, Or anything else that will kill your team.
4: Last but not least Try to use classes that you want to master fast.

Alright so now the rules are done now we can get onto the Trick! ( finally ^.^ )

Alright. First you need to find a battle ( wild battle ).
Once You enter the battle ( MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR 2 KNIGHTS WITH REND POWER
AND MAGICK!!!! )Finish off every monster except one! if you kill it you'll have to restart.
If you manage not to kill the monster then you suceeded. Now send your knights up To Rend Power The monster till he can barely hit your team. I also recommend using rend speed on him also so he Won't be annoying.

Now how to start the trick up. Since the monster that you rended his stats down he might leave you alone. So now rend Power Your team. If it's a mage then rend Magick it Once you done that the trick begins .

Set up your team like the all have a hit on everyone. (well for me I used an archer since if u rend them down they still do alot, so I made him the target and surrounded him with my team mates. Just keep attacking him if he needs a potion just let him heal himself every turn he has. (it also makes a good idea to use Tailwind (if you have it) on Ramza And the guy you made bait of so he can heal himself faster .

After 2 hours of doing this. You made atleast 4000+ JP ( if you used JP boost ) and atleast 10 levels or more. Don't use this trick alot in the beginning cause the monster get stronger every time you level up !!! Use this trick wisely and dont get yourself killed.

Enjoy this! it helped me alot on my game.

Questions and Answers!!
Q: Why do I always Keep Dying when I attack the "bait character"
A: It's Probably Because Your "bait character" has Counter or something on it.

Q: I keep Missing The monster with rend power is there a way to make me have a better chance on hitting?
A: Nothing that i know of, just keep Trying.

Q: The monsters im fighting are to hard And im hitting to low.
A: It's because you used the "trick" to much and You have weak equipment now everytime you fight something it's just hard. so next time limit the trick and dont over do it.

Easy Experience and JP
The game allows "friendly fire" or the ability to attack your team mates. Enter a random battle, eliminate all enemies except one. Move your team in the farthest position possible. Attack each other with your weakest attacks or spells then use items or spells to heal your party. Continue doing this to get free Exp and JP

Chocobo Heal
When farming levels through friendly fire, having a chocobo with Choco Cure in your party will further prolong the survivability of your party, enabling you to earn more free exp and jp through friendly attacks.

JP Boost
As a squire, don't change jobs yet. Wait until you learn the skill JP BOOST. This will allow you to earn more JP, even if you changed jobs.

Experience and JP farming with Toad
Have your Black Mage learn the spell Toad and cast it on everyone. Make sure to kill those who are immune. Turn the AI on so that the battle continues without requiring your control. You can easily gain several levels per character in a single battle with this trick.

Productive turns
By learning the Squire skill Focus, players don't need to waste their turns if they can't attack or do an action. Using Focus will allow players to earn EXP and JP when waiting out their turns.

Experience farming with a Monk
Have your party members surround a Monk with the skill Chakra. This is the same as Chocobo Heal trick mentioned earlier, but this trick takes longer before you can reap the benefits.

Killing Undead
Use healing and revival items and/or spells against undead enemies to kill/damage them.

Delaying Doom
Use the following tips to heal/ delay the effects of the death spell Doom.
1. Cast Slow on the inflicted character to slow the turn count.
2. Cast Stop to temporarily freeze the doom count
3. Use Induration on a character to petrify him/her. This will remove Doom but you'll still need to soften them up.

See Monster Before It's Birth
On the editing screen, put an egg in the bottom row. Place the cursor on top and press right or left slowly or rapidly. You should be able to get a glimpse of fhe monster's face that's going to be born.

Hidden Sound Test
When starting a new game, enter your name as PolkaPolka and you will be taken to a sound test menu (tested on US version).

Agrias and the Lip-Rouge Item
Make sure that you still have Lavian and Alicia (Agrias' guards from Chapter 1) still in your party in Chapter 4. Land on a City on Cancer I and you will see a cutscene where an embarrased Mustadio gives a birthday gift to Agrias. You will now have the lip-rouge which is a great stat-boosting accessory for female characters.

Cloud's Materia Blade
In Mount Bervenia, send any character with the Treasure Hunter skill to the mountain's peak. When you go there, you'll receive Cloud's weapon.

The Birthday of Agrias
To trigger this extra event make sure to check if you have fulfilled these requirements.
* Alicia and Lavian must still be in your party, as well as Agrias and Mustadio.
* You must have at least 500,000 funds available to you.
* You must be at the beginning of the chapter four.

Head to a town where you can go to another town without triggering a random encounter. Go back and forth between the two locations youve chosen until the date is Cancer 1, which is Agrias birthday. If youre in a town on Cancer 1, a triggered event will occur where Mustadio will give Agrias a present. Its called the Tynar Rouge. Its a powerful accessory that increases the stats of your female characters.

Rare Items
You can get many items by poaching many different monsters. Sometimes you may get rare items that you will not be able to purchase in the Outfitter's.
Holy Mace: poach a Sekhret
Cachusha: poach a Pig
Dragon's Whisker: poach a Red Dragon
Cherche: poach a Behemoth King
Zwill Straightblade: poach a Vampire Cat
Elixir: poach a Red Chocobo
Omnilex: poach a Great Malboro

Crystals
When an enemy or ally dies (crystallizes), you can pick up the crystals they leave behind to restore your HP and MP or to learn skills or abilities. If there are multiple options, choose the last skill in the list. This will allow your character to learn ALL skills listed instead of just the one you selected.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Unlockable: Onion Knight
To unlock the Onion Knight as an option for any given character, that character must be a level six Chemist and a level six Squire.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Unlockable: Secret Characters
Here's a list of unlockable characters in Final Fantasy Tactics. Keep in mind that each character is acquired in the fourth chapter, and that you must have Mustadio in your party for each character to appear. Otherwise, you won't have the opportunity to recruit any characters.

1. Balthier - After you see the cutscene during chapter four at Bervenia, read the rumors at the pub in Gollund. From there, travel to Dorter, and do the same thing you did in Gollund. When you leave Dorter from there, you'll automatically engage in a battle. If you're victorious, Balthier will join the party permanently.

2. Beowulf - Read the rumors at Goland, and then head to Lesalia. There, you will find Beowulf, and can agree to accompany him to Goland. After a series of plot battles, he joins the party.

3. Biblos - After clearing all ten levels of the Deep Dungeon, this character will become available for recruitment.

4. Cloud - After returning Reis to human form, go to Goug. Cloud (of Final Fantasy VII fame) will run off to Zarghidas. After clearing Igros, go to Zargidas and win the fight to recruit this character.

5. Construct 8 - After rescuing Reis from Goland, return to Goug. Worker 8 joins the party after a cutscene.

6. Dragon Reis - Go with Beowulf through Goland Coal City. Reis is rescued during the final battle in the series, and will join the party thereafter.

7. Human Reis - First, read the rumors at Zeltennia, and then buy a flower in Zarghidas. From there, return to Goug. This unlocks a battle in Zeltennia, where Reis takes human form at the fight's conclusion.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Unlockable: Second Battle at Lionel Castle
To unlock a second battle at Lionel Castle, you must have Beowulf and Human Reis in your active party. When you return to Lionel Castle, a cutscene will play. Aliste Rosenheim will appear and kidnap Reis. Then, the battle will ensue. Win this battle, fight Celebrent Bredmondt, and you will get Reis back after you're victorious.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Hint: Friendly Fire
During random battles (not story-driven battles), getting experience and JP are vital to the growth of your characters. Since enemies in random battles can almost always be handled rather easily by your party (as they grow with the strength of your party), you can eliminate all but one member of the enemy party rather easily. Leaving that enemy alive, you should then have your characters attack one another, healing with Chemist skills and White Magic if you can, until you can no longer survive without killing off your party. Then, go after the final enemy and eliminate it to finish the battle. By doing this, you can create experience and JP you wouldn't have gotten in the battle otherwise, lessening the amount of random battles you'll have to fight to build your characters' levels.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Hint: Friendly Fire & Chocobo
If you have a Chocobo in your party, you'll no doubt know that they have Choco Cure, a useful skill that can be used over and over again. Choco Cure restores some of the Chocobo's HP, as well as characters in front of it, behind it, and to the left and right of it. If you try executing the hint entitled "Friendly Fire", having a Chocobo in your party to heal characters grouped together each round will allow you to survive the fight even longer, building experience and JP levels even higher.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Hint: JP Boost
Although it's tempting to immediately branch out from the Squire job, stay with the job until you earn enough JP to purchase the JP Boost skill. With this equipped on any other job, JP earned in battle will be increased significantly, allowing you to acquire skills for other jobs more rapidly than you otherwise would have been able to.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Hint: New Jobs
There are two new jobs in this release of the game that weren't in the original PSX release - Onion Knight and Dark Knight.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Unlockable: Dark Knight
Unlocking one of the two new job classes in the PSP version of Final Fantasy Tactics is a bit of a chore. The Dark Knight has many pre-requisites to unlock, but once that's done, you'll have a powerful job on your hands.

To unlock the Dark Knight class, you must completely master the Knight and Black Mage classes - that is, learn each of their skills. Also, achieve the eighth level with the Dragoon, Geomancer, Ninja, and Samurai jobs. You must also must have killed twenty enemies in battle to the point that the enemy disappears from the battlefield (three rounds).

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Hint: Experience With Toad
If you have a Black Mage, have him or her learn the spell Toad. Then, transform all of the enemies on the field into toads. Kill any enemies that aren't able to be turned. Then, you can attack and heal your own party to build experience and JP for as long as you want with no threat from the enemies. When you're done, you can then kill the toads for an easy victory.

You can actually turn everyone into Toads using your Black Mage (or whomever), killing anyone who can't be turned. Then, use the AI mode to let the battle progress, pressing the Triangle button every so often so that the PSP won't fall asleep. When you do this, the Toads will attack and do their functions without you having to participate (like the Lete River in Final Fantasy VI). You can easily get ten or fifteen levels per character in a single battle. Give it a try!

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Hint: Focus Farming
If you have the Squire ability Focus, you can get experience and JP even if you're unable to attack during any round. Learning Focus and giving it to characters, even non-Squires, is a great way to utilize each and every round of combat in a productive manner. If you have nothing to attack, are out of range, or whatever, using something like Focus will still give you JP and experience points each round.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Hint: Monk Experience and JP
Here's another great way to level-up easily. Have a party of five, with one of your characters playing as a Monk. Have that character learn the skill Chakra. Then, take them to a map where a "plus sign-shaped" area can be found. Have your five players stand in this area, with the Monk in the middle. Then, simply have them attack each other, using the Monk's Chakra ability to heal everyone each round. This will rack up some easy JP and experience points if you have some patience.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Hint: Kill the Undead
If you're having difficulty defeating undead monsters, or simply want an easier way to eliminate them, try using healing spells and items on them. Instead of healing them or helping them out, these items will actually damage them. Potions, Phoenix Downs, and healing spells like Cura will damage these foes, so give it a try!

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Hint: Skill Crystal Glitch
Here's an interesting glitch. When you kill an enemy (or when an ally falls), they turn into a Crystal after three full turns. You can then pick up the crystal, which will usually result in a restoration of HP and MP for the character who grabbed it. Sometimes, however, skills and abilities can be learned from the Crystal. If this happens and there are multiple options, always choose the last skill listed. Your character will then learn all of the skills and abilities listed, not just the one you selected.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Hint: Tricking Doom
Doom can be a pesky spell, since it gives you three turns to win the battle before you're automatically killed (even less time if you have the misfortune of having something like Haste cast on you at the same time). If you want some tips on how to stay alive with Doom, try the following:
1. Cast Slow on the character afflicted with Doom. It will slow the Doom Count down.
2. Cast Stop on the character afflicted with Doom. It will temporarily stop the Doom Count.
3. Use Induration (a Mystic Art) to turn the character afflicted with Doom to stone. This "heals" Doom, though the character will be encased in stone until you heal him or her.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Hint: Find Cloud's Materia Blade
A weapon called Cloud’s Materia Blade can be found at Mount Bervenia. When you head there to battle, send any character in your party equipped with the Treasure Hunter skill to the highest peak on the stage. When you head there, you’ll receive the blade you seek.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Hint: Ultima For Ramza
Here’s a great way to acquire the Ultima spell for use by Ramza. Have Ramza in the battle at Limberry Castle and make sure he’s a Squire (no other class). With some luck during the first or second battles there, Ceilia or Ledw will cast Ultima on Ramza. As long as Ramza is a Squire when this happens, he’ll learn Ultima as a Squire skill which can then be reproduced at will.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Hint: The Birthday of Agrias
To trigger this extra event, have the following requirements fulfilled.

1. Alicia and Lavian must still be in your party, as well as Agrias and Mustadio.
2. You must have at least 500,000 funds available to you.
3. You must be at the beginning of the chapter four. It may work after this, but that’s the minimum advancement you have to have had achieved through the game.

If all of the above is true for you, head to a town where you can advance to another town without triggering a random encounter. Go back and forth between the two locations you’ve chosen until the date is Cancer 1, which is Agrias’ birthday. If you’re in a town on Cancer 1, a triggered event will occur where Mustadio will give Agrias a present. It’s called the Tynar Rouge, and it’s a powerful item indeed!

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions Hint: Rare Items
You can get many items by poaching many different monsters. Sometimes you may get rare items that you will not be able to purchase in the Outfitter's.
1. Holy Mace - poach a Sekhret
2. Cachusha - poach a Pig
3. Dragon's Whisker - poach a Red Dragon
4. Cherche - poach a Behemoth King
5. Zwill Straightblade - poach a Vampire Cat
6. Elixir - poach a Red Chocobo
7. Omnilex - poach a Great Malboro
