Gear Solid: Peace Walker (Limited Edition)
Unlockable: Monster Hunter Stages
If you're one of
those dedicated Kojima fans, chances are that you've picked up Metal Gear
Solid: Peace Walker, the latest chapter in the seemingly never ending saga of
Metal Gear. While you're knocking bad guys out and building your own army, you
might start wondering "Where the hell are all the Monster Hunter levels I
heard about."
Well, they're here,
but getting to them takes a bit of work.
If you missed it
the first time around, Konami announced a few months ago that it was partnering
with Capcom to put some of the Monster Hunter monsters into Peace Walker so
that Snake could test his skills. However, if you were just casually playing
through Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, you could easily miss these gems.
The first piece of
the puzzle is that you have to listen to every one of Chico's audio briefings. To do this, pick a
mission, select "Briefing Files" before deploying, and then move to
the Chico file library. Listen to each one of these
tapes ... or at least use the circle button and click through every line of
dialogue so that he exclamation icon marking it new disappears.
Now that you've
listened to Chico ramble on and on about monsters, head over
to Extra Ops and go out on [029] Item Capture. This is a seemingly simple
mission. Go in, take care of the three guards, and blow up the item crate.
However, there's more to it than that if you want Capcom's content.
After you blow up
the crate, collect the items but do not head to the extraction point. Instead,
head south to the beach at Playa del Alba. When you enter, take a left and head
down the dock. Miller will radio in that there's a "weird looking
animal" over there.
Run down the dock,
and you'll meet Trenya, a talking cat from the Monster Hunter universe. Snake
and the kitty will make some perrrrrfect puns, and the mission will end.
Meow.
Scroll to the end
(or what should be the end) of your Extra Ops, and you'll now find [121]
Hunting Quest: Rathalos. This is your very first Monster Hunter quest. Hooray.
If you can beat this flying beast, you'll unlock extra quests to go forth and
conquer.

Gear Solid: Peace Walker (Limited Edition) Hint:
Avoid Mech Decommission
For this tip to
work, you must enable auto-save. After you send your combat team to Outer Ops
mission and you are using your mechs, the auto save will run and save your
game. After the saving, Reports will notify you about the Mother Base. After
the report, head to Outer Ops to view their Missions Status. If your Mech gets
Decommissioned, (damaged beyond Repair), DO NOT SAVE MANUALLY. Instead, go to
title screen without saving. Load your game again, and it will bring you back
to the Reports about the Mother Base, and after the Reports, Head to the Outer
Ops again... Reset and Load until you receive a better outcome and your Mech is
not Decommissioned.

Gear Solid: Peace Walker (Limited Edition) Hint:
Hit on Paz, Get a Rank S on Extra Ops 67
To date Paz, you
must unlock Extra Ops 67.In the Entry Gate equip this following:
1. Walkman (for
romantic BGM)
2. Love Box
(required)
3. Camera (for
taking pictures)
Then, change your
Co-ops Comm. with greetings (polite greetings) or something nice words in
"ETC" section.
In your outfit, you
must not be "naked" because Paz will run away and you can't finish
the mission.
Now on the mission,
pause for a while and use your Walkman then select a good music. After that,
try to speak with her by using Co-ops Comm.(Select button)and if you saw a red
heart in her speech balloon , that means that she is turn on to you but if you
saw a broken heart, it means that she's turned off. Try times many times
speaking with her using this until you gather many red heart points. Don't try
any perverted things to her (like touching her breast using your CQC) or you
will be slapped; also avoid to bump her many times or you will see her
disappointed (broken heart in her speech balloon).
After speaking to
her, try to take her some pictures, and you must be in lower position; just
equip the cam and Paz will give a pose. Unequip your cam then equip again many
times until she change her poses.
If you finished all
of this, all you have to do is to equip your Love Box and it's either call her
or go near to her, and she will open the box then she will go inside. When they
are going at it, look for 7 hearts or more spreading from the box, it is
possible to have a rank S on the mission. Wait for the mission results, and if
got a score of 200 or above, the you've got a rank S!!
The reward for the
mission is that when you play again this mission, you'll see that Paz is
wearing her undies. If you finished it again with a rank of S you will "go
on a date with Paz."

S-ranking Extra Ops 83
S-ranking Extra Ops
83. You can do it by clearing it under 16 minutes. The trick is to do it fast
and make sure to Fulton out most (if not all) of the enemies and do not kill anyone (if an
enemy tank runs over anyone by accident, it won't count).
It's easier to get
an S-rank if you do not let the guards spot Snake until the commander pops out
at the very end. Use the Mosin-Nagant to knock him out.
I used a lot of
up-levelled/improved smoke grenades and even colored smoke grenades so enemies
didn't see me when I used the Fulton launcher on the troops. I also placed some Fulton mines next to them when they were blinded
by the smoke to automatically get rid of them.
Make sure to equip
the Sneaking Suit, Night Vision Goggles, and throw the smoke grenades at your
feet so that nobody sees you when you use the Fulton launcher. I managed to hide in the empty
warehouse building so make sure you have the Stealth Mat to hide yourself when
the troops come running towards you and look inside.
Oh, and you can get
the battle suit with the helmet from S++ Outer Ops missions, because that's
where I got mine.
Metal
Gear Solid: Peace Walker (Limited Edition) Hint:
Zadornov after he removes his tracker
Go do the first
extra ops mission which is the shooting gallery inside MSF. You should hear an
evil laugh in the room when you start so after you hear it go and run up the
stairs that are near the exit and Zadarnov should be on the next floor.

Hero Point Farming
Insignias are the
way to get Hero Points quickly. The best way is to establish a pattern that
allows you to work towards multiple insignias at once. So, for each guard you
CQC slam them, hold them up, headshot them, and Fulton them while also not
using recovery items, killing anyone, or getting caught, then you're working
towards seven different insignias. And each insignia will be worth with three
ranks which will total probably around 50,000 Hero Points once you've gotten
them all. Granted it takes time.
Another somewhat
fast way is if you can find a location where you can get -- for example - six
soldiers in one AP recruit session, you can string together a good CQC combo on
them. Every combo above two adds another 30 hero points (i.e., 3-combos for 30
pts, 4-combos for 60 pts, and so on). Plus if you have the dress or whatever
camo it is that adds 30% Hero Points you can improve that.
Just find that AP recruiting
spot, do that mission, go back to home and change the date on your PSP by two
days and do it all over again. Tedious but if you find a good spot you can milk
a decent amount of hero points faster than if you just did most normal missions
over and over.

Paz's Bikini Viewer
After getting a
Rank S on the "Date with Paz" mission you get to see her in her
underwear. But you can also go to Staff Management Screen at Mother Base and
look for the women of the game(Amanda, Dr.Strangelove, Cecile) and then press
TRIANGLE twice to see their model in underwear. Note: You can only see the
models of the women only.

Mk. 22 Butt Shot Takedown
Normally it takes a
couple of hits from Mk. 22 to put a guard that wears a helmet or armor to
sleep. The trick is to shoot at the guards butt (right between the cheeks);
this will make the guard to reach for his/her behind and fall asleep.

Egg: Paz's Last Song
After viewing all
of Paz's Diary entries and learning of her failed final wish to sing for the
members of MSF, you may know that the song "Love Deterrence" is
available to listen to on the game's soundtrack. (Koi No Yokushi Ryoku.) It is
performed by the voice actor that voices Paz.
